Overview of the 2019 RAM 1500 Limited
About six months ago, we tested the 2018 RAM in its Rebel version. Today, we revisit the RAM 1500 with the 2019 model in the Limited trim. RAM has consistently impressed us with its combination of power, luxury, and features in this giant truck. Let’s delve into what's new with the RAM 1500 2019 and see if it can outshine competitors like the Ford F150 and Chevrolet Silverado.
Exterior Design
At first glance, the truck showcases RAM's attempt to blend luxury with modernity in its design. The front grille has been revamped entirely, featuring a prominent RAM logo at its center and a notable use of chrome that complements the truck's substantial size. The design lines have also become more streamlined while retaining the ruggedness we associate with RAM trucks.
Lighting Features
The new truck comes equipped with full LED headlights, featuring dynamic lighting technology that adjusts with the steering for optimal corner visibility, along with daytime running lights and LED fog lights.
Rear Design Details
From the rear, you will quickly notice the large RAM name again, alongside substantial dual exhaust outlets and a tailgate that can be opened via the key fob. This cargo bed offers a capacity of 1520 liters with a leather cover and numerous tie-down points that enable you to secure loads weighing up to 834 kg, which is an increase of 21% over the previous model.
To facilitate entry into the RAM 1500, the Limited version includes an automatic power step, along with air suspension that allows you to lower the truck's height via the key fob or from within the cabin.
Interior Design
One of the criticisms of the older RAM trucks was the quality of materials used in the cabin. However, with the 2019 RAM 1500 Limited, you will notice a significant upgrade in the use of high-quality materials throughout the interior. Leather covers all areas of the cabin, complemented by wooden accents that reflect the attention to detail in the new RAM.
Cabin Comfort
With this luxurious feel, you will also enjoy ample space inside the RAM, enhanced by comfortable leather seats. During long trips, the comfort level of the seats, which offer 12 adjustment positions, becomes apparent, along with special buttons for adjusting the pedals and a headrest that moves in four directions.
The cabin also features a plethora of storage spaces, a spacious rear seating area, and very large windows. Additionally, the rear seats can fold down to create more storage space.
Features
The RAM 1500 offers remote engine start, keyless entry and ignition, and the Uconnect entertainment system from Fiat Chrysler with an 8.4-inch touchscreen, along with a 12-inch vertical screen in other versions that allows you to display two different sets of information. It also features navigation and a sound system from Harman Kardon with 18 speakers, supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a wireless phone charging pad.
Climate Control and Connectivity
The RAM is equipped with dual-zone automatic climate control, with vents for the rear seats, and both heating and cooling options for the front and rear seats. There are four charging ports for mobile devices, including 2 USB and 2 USB-C, along with a 7-inch display on the dashboard where you can customize the information shown.

Performance
The 2019 RAM is equipped with a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine that generates 395 horsepower and 556 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. You might expect such an engine to be loud inside the cabin, but surprisingly, you will notice a significant level of quietness while driving in the city or on the highway.
This quietness results from two main factors: the aerodynamic focus RAM has placed in designing this truck and the noise-reduction system in the cabin. The RAM pickup offers impressive towing capabilities, with a towing capacity of up to 5134 kg.
The RAM Limited we tested features air suspension that effectively dampens the worst road bumps and provides manual control over the vehicle’s height, which also adjusts automatically based on road conditions and speed.
Verdict
I believe that RAM has successfully managed to combine the strength of its trucks with the luxury and technology suited for 2019, putting pressure on both Ford and Chevrolet to keep up, especially concerning cabin quality and the technology equipped in this truck.
As for pricing in the UAE market, the 2019 RAM 1500 Limited starts at 320,000 AED, but the dealership is currently offering a fantastic deal that brings the price of this Limited version down to just 256,000 AED.
