Truck Design
Compared to the current model, the Sierra Heavy Duty features:
- Longer wheelbase, a higher and more pronounced hood line, and an overall increased height.
- A larger front grille and a functional hood scoop to enhance the performance of the advanced cooling system in the Duramax turbo-diesel engine.
- A class-leading heavy-duty bed with 10 and 12 tie-down points, now featuring a new optional 120-volt power outlet.
- A loading bed floor that is 1 inch lower compared to the 2019 Sierra Heavy Duty.
- New side steps exclusive to this category for the loading bed.
- The world's first six-function MultiPro tailgate.
Towing Power
The legendary Duramax turbo-diesel engine paired with the Allison transmission continues to provide maximum confidence during towing operations.
The 6.6-liter Duramax turbo-diesel engine is known for its exceptional durability, delivering high power output with low noise. For the 2020 Sierra HD, the Duramax engine generates an impressive 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft of torque.
Launch and Pricing
The 2020 Sierra HD will go on sale later this year in both 2500HD and 3500HD variants. Pricing and specifications will be announced in due course.
