While several car manufacturers are offering alternatives to internal combustion engines, focusing on speed and torque, Acciona stands out as the only company to achieve this feat with a fully electric vehicle at the Dakar Rally.

As the saying goes, "Every effort has its reward." The Spanish renewable energy company spent five years developing its electric vehicle and emerged victorious after two failed attempts, finally winning on their third try at one of the world's most dangerous and challenging rallies.
Dakar Rally Details
The Dakar Rally covered a distance of 9,000 km through the diverse terrains of Argentina, Bolivia, and a part of Paraguay. Eighteen vehicles from around the globe participated, with Acciona's vehicle outperforming all competitors without emitting any carbon dioxide.

Driver Ariel Gaton remarked on the overwhelming victory: "The saga is over. This year's Dakar Rally was incredibly tough, particularly in stages that were complicated further by weather conditions and high altitudes in Bolivia. This rally was the most exhausting and difficult in South America, so we are delighted to reach the finish line, especially with a fully electric vehicle."
Electric Vehicle Technology
The vehicle is equipped with a 340-horsepower electric motor, and it features a lightweight carbon fiber structure. It utilizes six lithium battery units that can be charged individually, providing full power within 60 minutes.
With 100-watt solar panels on the roof, the Acciona electric vehicle has proven that electric cars are not only enjoyable but can also endure the harshest conditions like any other vehicle.
