Ford Territory Makes Its Middle East Debut in Saudi Arabia
Contemporary Design Meets Smart Technology in Ford’s Latest Compact SUV
Ford Middle East has officially unveiled the all-new Ford Territory for the first time in the region, launching from the heart of Saudi Arabia. This compact SUV seamlessly blends striking modern design, a spacious interior, confident driving dynamics, and advanced smart technologies—making it an ideal choice for young drivers and small families.
Designed for Young Drivers and Tech Enthusiasts
Ravi Ravichandran, Managing Director of Ford Middle East, stated, "The all-new Ford Territory’s design is crafted to attract young customers and tech enthusiasts. The contemporary styling, paired with advanced technological features, delivers a unique and modern experience for our clientele."
He added, "Before its official introduction in the region, the all-new Ford Territory underwent comprehensive evaluation tests for 18 months. Our Middle Eastern customers expect high product quality and exceptional service, and we are confident that the new Territory will exceed their expectations."
Engineered for the Middle East Climate
Ahead of its Middle East arrival, three different prototypes of the all-new Ford Territory were tested on various terrains for 18 months, including two summer cycles (June to August). These tests ensured the vehicle’s resilience to extreme daily temperatures ranging from 43°C to 49°C and its ability to withstand intense sunlight.
This rigorous evaluation aimed to guarantee that the Ford Territory would perform flawlessly in the region’s hot climate. Enhancements were made to ensure the SUV exceeds local customer expectations—for example, rapid and efficient cooling of the cabin during summer, improved transmission for sustained high-speed driving, and updated infotainment systems tailored for local preferences.
Progressive Energy in Design Philosophy
The vision for the Ford Territory is rooted in Ford’s new design philosophy: “Progressive Energy in Strength”. This approach draws from the brand’s rich heritage and distinctive styling, embodying three core principles: strong presence, agility, and responsiveness.
Maurizio Tocco, Chief Designer for the Ford Territory, explained, "Our design focused on these principles as they are crucial for our customers: a commanding road presence, a sense of spaciousness inside, and the seamless integration of smart technologies."
Distinctive Exterior Styling
The Ford design spirit shines through the Territory’s exterior, with signature styling cues on the front fascia, a bold integrated grille, and full LED headlights that reinforce the vehicle’s muscular and robust profile. The daytime running LED lights and unique headlamp design not only enhance appearance but also improve visibility by expanding illuminated zones.
A prominent upper side line extending from front to rear adds dynamic energy to the Territory’s modern design language. Three-dimensional floating elements on the body and rear emphasize agility and the compact SUV’s progressive spirit, while innovative rear lighting underlines Ford’s commitment to contemporary advancement.
Interior: Craftsmanship Meets Advanced Technology
Inside, the all-new Territory offers a remarkably spacious environment for comfortable and sophisticated journeys—whether for work, leisure, or family outings. The horizontal design theme enhances the uninterrupted sense of space.
The interior features bold, coordinated color palettes, highlighting a harmonious blend of blue with dark wood. The combination of white and other tones creates a distinct visual contrast. Comfort and functionality are elevated with luxurious leather seats, including a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat.
Titanium models come equipped with dual-zone climate control, while all Middle East editions include a standard PM2.5 air filtration system to protect passengers from dust and allergens, ensuring consistently high air quality inside the cabin.
The rear seats in the Titanium trim are cooled and upholstered in premium leather, designed for ultimate comfort while maintaining the vehicle’s athletic SUV aesthetic. The nearly flat central floor adds to the sense of spaciousness for both front and rear occupants.
Ford has maximized storage, with over 20 large compartments and a generous 448-liter rear cargo space, providing flexible storage solutions throughout the vehicle.
Efficiency and Performance
Ian Jones, Product Development Director for Ford's Global Markets Group, commented, "The all-new Ford Territory is a global product, developed with our expertise in compact SUVs and advanced technologies to deliver optimum comfort and confidence behind the wheel. The Territory stands out for its high competitiveness and outstanding value."
Every Ford Territory variant is powered by a 1.8-liter EcoBoost engine, producing a robust 320 Nm of torque between 1,500-3,500 rpm with regular fuel, and delivering an impressive 190 horsepower. The advanced dual-clutch system and 7-speed automatic transmission, developed by Ford’s strategic partner Magna in Germany, ensure smooth, responsive shifting and superior fuel efficiency compared to competitors. Low rolling-resistance tires further enhance fuel economy.
The use of ultra-high-strength boron steel allows for thinner, lighter components while maintaining durability and safety, helping protect occupants and improving fuel consumption. With a ground clearance of 190 mm, drivers benefit from excellent visibility and confidence in challenging road situations.
All Middle East models come with four driving modes—Eco, Normal, Sport, and Mountain—offering versatility for city commutes, highway journeys, or off-road adventures.
Advanced Technology for Safety and Comfort
The all-new Ford Territory features a suite of driver-assistance technologies that prioritize safety and elevate the driving experience. Middle Eastern customers can conveniently access these advanced features through an Arabic interface. The Ford Co-Pilot safety system includes:
- Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Cross-Traffic Alert: Enhanced blind spot monitoring provides extra confidence when changing lanes or merging onto highways. If a fast-approaching vehicle enters the Territory’s blind spot, a small light in the side mirror warns the driver to avoid lane changes.
- Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go (Titanium Edition): Allows drivers to set a cruising speed and maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead, even bringing the Territory to a complete stop when necessary.
- Collision Avoidance and Automatic Emergency Braking: Utilizing new wide-angle cameras and radar sensors mounted on the windshield near the front bumper absorber, this system scans the road to detect potential collisions with vehicles, pedestrians, or cyclists. Upon detecting imminent danger, it issues audible and visual alerts and, if required, activates automatic emergency braking.
Additional safety technologies include lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, tire pressure monitoring, proactive anti-theft protection, and more—ensuring peace of mind for both driver and passengers.
Smart Features for Everyday Comfort
The new Territory caters to customer comfort with a host of intelligent amenities. The central area features a streamlined design with a large 12-inch touchscreen, accompanied by either a 7-inch (Ambient and Trend) or 12-inch (Titanium) digital instrument cluster. This setup provides intuitive control and helps drivers stay focused on the road.
Minimal physical buttons in the center console enhance the user experience, while the innovative rotary electronic gear selector offers a modern and ergonomic touch.
Other premium features include wireless charging, USB Type-C and Type-A ports, wireless smartphone connectivity via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a high-quality sound system with six speakers (Ambient and Trend) or eight speakers (Titanium), steering wheel audio controls, keyless entry with Power Push Start, and a hands-free power tailgate.
Customer Experience: Diverse Editions and Customization
Ford Middle East offers the Territory in three trims: Ambient, Trend, and Titanium, each equipped to help customers make the most of every journey.
Customers can choose from seven exterior colors: black, metallic blue, metallic white, ruby metallic red, metallic brown, metallic silver, and crystal pearl white. Interior color options include dark tones for Ambient and Trend, light grey for Trend and Titanium, and exclusive Peacock Blue for Titanium. Ambient and Trend feature vinyl seats, while Titanium boasts premium leather upholstery.
Completing Ford’s Expanding SUV Lineup
Ravichandran concluded, "Our refreshed lineup—beginning with the all-new Taurus, Bronco Raptor, Expedition, and Ranger Raptor—will continue to grow with more models in the coming months. The all-new Ford Territory completes this portfolio, serving as the gateway to Ford’s world of SUVs. Its launch also aligns with our Ford+ plan to drive growth and deliver unmatched value and competitiveness."
The development of the Ford Territory was a collaborative project with Jiangling Motors and is distinguished by its robust presence, exceptional craftsmanship, spacious and flexible interior, and cutting-edge technologies.
Designed by Ford’s Melbourne studio in Australia, the all-new Territory has been tested and developed across multiple global markets and is now available at most Ford showrooms in the Middle East.
