Aston Martin Sharpens the DB12 with an “S” Variant

Aston Martin has raised the bar for its grand touring flagship by introducing a new halo model: the DB12 S. Rather than reinventing the car, the team focused on the details that matter: sharper handling, more power, and tweaks that elevate the driving experience. 

The DB12 S joins the DBX S and Vantage S in Aston’s “S” family for 2026. 

More Power, Faster Launches

Under the hood, the twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 now produces 691 horsepower, up by 20 from the standard DB12. Torque stands at 590 lb-ft. Thanks to quicker shifts and improved launch control, the coupe version sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds, while the convertible (Volante version in Aston Martin world) does the same run in 3.5 seconds. Top speed is rated at 202 mph. 

Chassis, Brakes, and Dynamics Upgrades

To match the added output, Aston has refined the DB12’s underpinnings. Calibrations for throttle and steering are revised. Bilstein DTX dampers receive fresh tuning. The electronic rear differential is improved, and the rear anti-roll bars are stiffened. The suspension geometry, camber, caster, and toe, has been adjusted for sharper response. 

Carbon-ceramic brakes now come standard, shedding roughly 59.5 pounds of unsprung weight. The front discs are 16.1 inches, rear are 14.2 inches, and they integrate Aston’s next-generation corner braking control system. 

Sporty Exterior Upgrades

Aero changes sharpen the S variant’s presence. A dual-element front splitter improves downforce and guides airflow through wheel arches. The hood features louvers that come in gloss black or optional carbon fiber. 

At the back, a fixed spoiler, reworked diffuser, and four stacked stainless-steel tailpipes define the rear. You can also opt for a titanium exhaust system that boosts sound by 1.5 decibels and saves weight. 

Interior Touches and Availability

Inside, subtle enhancements make the DB12 S stand out. The drive mode rotary dial is finished in knurled red metal, matching the exterior “S” badging. Buyers choose from three interior trim configurations that mix leather and Alcantara in classic Aston style. You can still order both coupe and convertible versions. 

Deliveries for the DB12 S begin in the first quarter of 2026. Aston hasn’t revealed full pricing yet, but since the base DB12 starts around $250,000, many expect that the S model will push north of $275,000. There is no official word yet regarding its regional UAE launch.
