Not many car manufacturers choose to develop a limousine that has six-doors. This is a very rare concept and I guess that’s what makes it that special. The first car that comes to mind when someone thinks about a six-door limousine is an old Mercedes-Benz in the movies. Well, Mercedes-Benz has always stuck to this concept and their latest creation is the S-Class Maybach Pullman. Ofcourse, there is also the recently released Bentley Mulsanne. And, that is about it. No other premium manufacturer has bothered to think over this concept.

Good news all you limo lovers out there! Now there is a new player in town – AUDI. Yes, the very subtle and under playing Audi has decided to step up its game and create a six-door limousine of its own. The car is aptly titled as A8L extended. With this car, Audi clearly states what model is the limousine based on and what one can find in it.
Coming to the car itself, the overall length of the extended limo is a massive 6.37 meters, this means the wheelbase has also increased – to 4.2 meters. As per Audi, the whole thing came into being after one year of hard work. This limousine is made out of aluminum to make it a solid-built machine. The Audi A8L extended has three rows of seats – total 6 seats. Each row has its own set of blinds for privacy. All seats are covered special Valconia leather. Moreover, the seats are electrically adjustable. The most luxurious part of the limousine is definitely the third row where you will find a center console with a screen and cool box.
This added length and features also means that the limousine is heavy. The A8L weighs about a whopping 2.5 tons. This stretch is riding on 19 inch wheels and the design is taken from the S8. However, the most disappointing part of the limousine is the engine. It does not have the big V8 or V12 you would find in a top-spec Audi. Instead the car has a 3.0 liter six-cylinder engine producing around 310 BHP. This is enough to propel the car from 0-100 in 7.3 seconds. The top speed is 250 km/h.
