New Camera Installation Details
Following in the footsteps of the capital city Abu Dhabi, Ajman Police are set to install and activate new cameras that will catch motorists with expired vehicle registrations from 1st July 2018 onwards. These cameras are linked to the police’s existing network of traffic cameras, allowing them to catch vehicles with expired registration and issue a fine of AED 500, four black points, and a seven-day impound to owners.
Statement from Ajman Police
Lieutenant Colonel Khaled Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Deputy Director of Police Operations in Ajman, stated that the move to the new digital system will help save time and strengthen road safety. He also urged motorists to renew expired registrations to avoid fines and unpaid insurance claims in the unfortunate event of an accident.
Enhanced Security Measures
Ramping up safety, CCTV surveillance systems are being installed in the emirate of Ajman to enhance security and prevent crimes. Following roll-out, Ajman Police will benefit from:
