UAE National Car Museum in Abu Dhabi
Overview of the Museum
If you are visiting or residing in Abu Dhabi, you have likely heard of the UAE National Car Museum. This museum is famous for housing one of the largest collections of cars in the region. The entire collection is owned by His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, who possesses an impressive seven Mercedes 500 SEL cars in vibrant rainbow colors.
Highlights of the Museum Exhibits
Among the remarkable displays, you will find the largest truck in the world, a replica of the 1950s model of the Dodge Power Wagon. This unique vehicle features a fully furnished interior, complete with bedrooms, bathrooms, and balconies. It is drivable and has made it into the Guinness World Records.
You will also come across the Benz Patent Motorwagen, manufactured in 1885 and recognized as the world's first car. It produces 954 cc and has a power output of 2/3 horsepower, with only 25 units ever made.
Another iconic vehicle is the Rolls Royce Silver Cloud 3. This is no ordinary car; it was used by Queen Elizabeth II during her last visit to Dubai in 1979.
Additionally, the museum features the Hummer H1, a rugged off-road vehicle built on the Humvee platform, manufactured from 1992 to 2006. It boasts a 6.5-liter V8 engine, providing 300 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque. The Humvee was used by the U.S. military for its all-terrain capabilities.
Last but not least, you will find the largest version of a Jeep. This vehicle is a Willys Jeep that is four times larger than the standard model and has also entered the Guinness World Records.
