Audi announced the all-new A5 and S5 models in July 2024 as direct replacements for the outgoing A4. Likely to arrive in the Middle East sometime in late 2024 or early 2025, there will be two variants of this new car: the A5 Sedan and the A5 Avant. It’s to be understood that these will be followed by the all-new S5 Sedan and S5 Avant in due course.
While it’s too early for any official UAE pricing to be available, we know that the price of the 2025 Audi A5 in Germany starts at EUR 45,200. This translates to roughly AED 180,000. However, the starting price of the new A5 in the UAE will likely be much higher than that. There’s also been a rebranding effort going on at Audi.
The nomenclature of Audi’s internal combustion cars will bear odd numbers, while its electric cars will bear even numbers. For example, the all-new 2025 Audi A5 is an ICE model, whereas the Q8 e-tron is electric. The Audi A4, meanwhile, will go fully electric in its next-gen iteration.
Design

The exterior of the 2025 Audi A5 looks clean yet stately in its Sedan form and modern yet sporty in its Avant form. The new Singleframe grille gets a 3D honeycomb structure, while the flared intakes and the new alloy design of the wheels add boldness to the car’s stance. Audi’s lighting technology has always garnered praise, and it’s no different here.
The LED headlights and DRLs also feature 3D design elements and look suave, while the taillights consist of modern OLEDs allowing for intricate light displays. The full-width LED strip and sporty-looking rear fascia are in cahoots with the flared fenders and rising shoulder line of the new A5 Sedan. This makes for a strong but poised stance.
In the case of the 2025 Audi A5 Avant, its sloped D-pillars and stretched body make a bold first impression. Both the Sedan and Avant get flush door handles for a cleaner look. Audi’s Avant or Estate versions have always looked sportier and been design classics – something the all-new A5 Avant is set to continue. Its overall stance also appears more poised and dynamic. The S5 variants crank up the sportiness factor of this Audi further with more aggressive wheels and bumpers.

Interior
The longer wheelbase of the 2025 Audi A5 means that there’s even more legroom here than in the older A4. This is complemented by the comfortable seats and a thoroughly updated interior boasting high-quality materials and a modern design. The doors, center console and dashboard feature ‘Softwrap’, a high-quality suede-like material that extends the sense of quality and luxury.

Audi has made plentiful use of indirect illumination and contour lighting, whilst dynamic lighting and LED strips are central to the whole premium experience. The sloped roof of the A5 Avant can make the rear seats feel tight, but the panoramic glass roof opens up some much-needed visual space. The interior can be optioned with plush leather, a high-quality fabric blend, wood trim, and shiny piano black plastic.
There are three digital displays in this cabin, including the panoramic twin panels in front of the driver. With ‘Visible Technology’ being one of its design ethos, Audi’s in-cabin technology is ultra-modern yet its human-machine interface remains pretty intuitive. The small button-type gear selector in the new A5, though, feels less intuitive. On the plus side, the extendable under-thigh support and slim air-conditioning vents at the front are nice additions.
Features
The alloy wheels on the 2025 Audi A5 range between 17 inches to 20 inches, depending on the market. Meanwhile, the interior gets a 14.5-inch MMI touchscreen along with an 11.9-inch Virtual Cockpit display and an optional 10.9-inch MMI display for the front passenger. There’s also a configurable head-up display, Audi Assistant, dual-zone climate control with rear vents, adaptive cruise control, adaptive dampers, wireless smartphone connectivity, and a Bang & Olufsen premium sound system.

The new Audi A5 features modern driver assistance systems like blind-spot warning, lane-departure alert & mitigation, front & rear cross-traffic alert, emergency brake assist, driver drowsiness detection, plus park assist and turn assist. There are plenty of airbags along with standard safety equipment like electronic stability control, traction control, all-around parking sensors, surround-view cameras, and tire-pressure monitoring.
Specifications

The 2025 Audi A5 is based on the Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) architecture and uses a 48-volt onboard electrical system called MHEV plus. All but the entry-level A5 are mild hybrids fitted with a small lithium iron phosphate (LiPo) battery plus a 24-horsepower powertrain generator (PTG). This setup allows the new A5 to be driven in ‘EV’ mode at low speeds or while parking, which helps save fuel and reduce emissions.
The only gearbox offered with the new Audi A5 is a dual-clutch automatic. The base variant isn’t a hybrid but gets front-wheel drive and a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol four-cylinder that produces 148 hp. This engine is also available with 201 hp and Quattro all-wheel drive. Meanwhile, the top-end 2025 Audi S5 features a 3.0-liter V6 TFSI engine making 362 hp.
