This is it. The SF90 successor. The Testarossa re-incarnated. Welcome to the 849 Testarossa.

So how’s Ferrari gone about it? Well, instead of tuning the SF90, Ferrari reimagined the concept completely by keeping the hybrid foundation but draping it in a look that refuses to be subtle. The moment I saw it, I thought: this is a modern Ferrari with its heart firmly planted in tradition.

Powertrain that punches above its name

At its core, the 849 is still a plug-in hybrid with a mid-mounted 4.0 liter twin-turbo V8 and three electric motors. But every element has been stepped up. The V8 alone now delivers around 819 horsepower, quite a jump over the SF90. Add in two electric motors at the front and another at the rear, and the total output rockets to 1,036 hp, a full 50 hp increase over its predecessor.

Ferrari quotes a blistering 0-62 mph sprint in just 2.3 seconds,  0-124mp in 6.3 seconds and a top speed north of 205 mph. Oh, and it lapped Fiorano in 1 minute and 17.5 seconds, more on that later.

Design that honors and disrupts the legacy

The bounce-back to the Testarossa name comes with expectations, yet Ferrari didn’t just revive a retro shape. The new 849 Testarossa carries cues from the 512 S and other heritage models—a bold front fascia with a wide horizontal bar, vertical vent graphics behind the doors, aggressive side sculpture, and a twin-tail rear wing with deployable spoiler.

Lightened tech for sharper track performance

Ferrari also introduced an Assetto Fiorano package, which shaves about 66 pounds off the car and switches the rear wing from twin-tail to more aggressive single-tail for better downforce and focus. The result? *That* Fiorano lap time of 1 minute and 17.5 seconds, a whopping 1.5 seconds faster than the SF90.

Cockpit that nods to drivers, not keyboards

If you thought the SF90’s touchscreen-based cockpit was cool, the 849 goes in a more human direction. You still have digital displays, but the 849 brings back physical buttons and a dramatic red engine-start button. The driver zone is clearly designed to keep your mind on the drive, not the UI. There’s still Apple CarPlay and wireless charging, but it’s tucked into a driving space that feels wonderfully analog.

What it costs and when it arrives

Ferrari has priced the 849 Testarossa starting at €460,000 for the coupe and expects that to climb close to €500,000 for the Spider version. Deliveries begin early-to-mid 2026 in Europe, with U.S. buyers following a few months later.
