Haval is a big deal in China. It is largest manufacturer of SUVs in the country. So, it is quite obvious that the brand will make its presence felt at the Beijing Motor Show. The brand’s theme at the show was ‘Haval SUV – Leading the Future’. Haval’s booth covered 1591 square meters of the China International Exhibition Center.
Coming to the exhibits, the Chinese maker showcased 21 vehicles. These 21 vehicles were of 12 models. These 12 models included 2 concept models, 2 models expected for mass production and 8 models that are currently sold.
The models that are currently sold are the Haval H1, Haval H2, Haval H5, Haval H6 (S-line), Haval H6 (Upgrade), Haval H6 Coupe, Haval H8 and Haval H9. Out of these four models are launched in the UAE i.e Haval H2, Haval H6, Haval H8 and Haval H9. The two concept models shown are the Haval HR-02 (red logo) and Haval HB-02 (blue logo). Finally, the two remaining models – scheduled for mass production soon – displayed at the Haval Booth were the Haval H7 (red logo) and Haval H2 (blue logo).
The Haval H7 was the highlight of the show. The H7 is a mid-size SUV by Haval expected to fill the gap between the H6 Coupe and the H8. The make believes this model completes the entire range. The Haval H7 is 4.7 meters long, 1.925 meters wide and 1.718 meters high. The wheelbase measures 2.8 meters in length. The SUV is powered by a 2.0 liter turbocharged engine producing 230 BHP and 355 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a 6 speed DCT gearbox. This combination translates to a 0-100 sprint in 9.3 seconds. Moreover, the fuel efficiency is 8.5 l/100km.
The two concept models HR-02 and HB-02 provide a look into Haval’s future. The HR-02 is a compact SUV for young consumers while the HB-02 is a hybrid SUV for the future.
