Features of the New V6 Engine

The new 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine is lightweight and integrated, produced at Nissan Motor's advanced engine factory (Iwaki Plant) in Japan. This engine will be exclusive to Infinity vehicles and is recognized as the lightest, most powerful, environmentally friendly, and fuel-efficient engine in its class.

Performance Levels

The 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine is available in two performance levels:

  • 300 horsepower
  • 400 horsepower

This engine belongs to the exclusive VR engine family, built upon the brand's remarkable heritage in producing V6 engines at the Iwaki plant.

Engine History

The VR30 engine was developed following extensive research and development of V6 engines, supported by a distinguished history, having been recognized among the "Top 10 Engines" on the Ward's list for fourteen consecutive years from 1995 to 2008, a unique achievement.

Application of the Engine in Infinity Vehicles

The first application of this engine family will be in the sporty sedan Infinity Q50, which will debut in the Middle East in the third quarter of 2016. With numerous technical upgrades, the Q50 promises enhanced performance and a richer driving experience.

About the Iwaki Plant

The Iwaki plant is an advanced engine manufacturing facility within Nissan Motor's production network. Located in Japan, it spans over 200,000 square meters and employs around 600 people. Operations at the plant began in January 1994, achieving an automation rate of over 60%.

The integrated production system at the plant produces engines of superior quality and high efficiency. The advanced engines manufactured at Iwaki are renowned for their exceptional fuel efficiency, compact design, and lightweight construction, having won numerous awards in Japan and the United States for their outstanding performance and engineering excellence.
