Some of you may remember the 450 horsepower Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Concept that was conveniently unveiled exactly a day after Ford announced the Bronco. Well, the time has come for Jeep to ditch the Concept moniker and unleash its 470 horsepower 6.4-liter HEMI V8 powered Wrangler to the public.

While some purists are likely to be disappointed, the Wrangler Rubicon 392 is available only as a four-door and with an 8-speed automatic transmission (no manual gearbox), sending power to all four corners. For those of you wondering, this is the same engine found in other 392 variants such as the Dodge Challenger, Charger, Durango, and the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT.

With 450 horsepower and 637 Nm of torque, the Wrangler Rubicon 392 is claimed to hit 100km/h in 4.7-seconds and complete a quarter-mile drag in 13-seconds flat. Those are very impressive numbers for a big, heavy SUV and give you an idea of the amount of thrill it will be able to deliver off-road.

To distinguish the 392 from other Wrangler variants, Jeep has bestowed the halo model with a functional hood scoop borrowed from the Gladiator Mojave, as well as 392 badging and a quad-pipe exhaust system. It also sits 2-inches higher than a standard Wrangler and 1-inch higher than the standard Rubicon, offering a ground clearance of 10.3-inches and a wading depth of 32.5-inches.

To keep up with the extra power and stain on the chassis, Jeep has added more steel, upgraded the control arms, and installed a full-time two-speed transfer case, along with Dana 44 axles, electronic locking differentials, and Fox shocks. The standard model does come with a set of 17-inch alloys wrapped in 33-inch BFGoodrich KO2 all-terrain tires, but knowing Jeepers, those are likely to be traded as part of the first set of modifications.

Inside the cabin, there are leather seats with bronze stitching to match the accents on the exterior, as well as an 8.4-inch touch screen. Accessories such as LED lights, rock rails, and winches, will be available from the brand’s performance section, Mopar.

While official pricing remains unknown, we do know that the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 will be available in the Middle East by the end of 2021.
