After a long wait, McLaren has shifted its focus towards producing sports and supercars suitable for everyday driving. The last street car from McLaren was the F1, and it has been around 20 years since they concentrated on daily-use vehicles. While they did produce the Mercedes SLR, that model is more associated with Mercedes than McLaren. A significant transformation has occurred since the launch of the MP4-12C, which has now been replaced by the stunning 650S. This supercar came with a hefty price tag. Now, McLaren introduces the all-new 570S.
Exterior Design
It's clear that the McLaren 570S embodies the essence of McLaren. In my opinion, this car is much more attractive than its bigger sibling, the 650S. The iconic McLaren doors add character to the vehicle. The rear design reminds me of a bee. Overall, the car is stunning, and the orange color I tested truly turns heads. Many people stopped me to ask about the car's details.
Interior
The interior of the 570S is almost identical to that of the 650S, but better. The driving experience is comfortable, and getting in and out of the car is easy. McLaren has listened to customer feedback and created a vehicle that delights them. The entertainment system display has improved, and the cabin features a blend of leather and carbon fiber. In short, it’s a beautiful and enjoyable driving environment.
Driving Experience
The 570S is not just another supercar. McLaren has stated that their goal is to attract a broader clientele with the 570S by producing a more affordable and less powerful option compared to the 650S, while still ensuring it remains a true McLaren. The engine is a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 that delivers 562 horsepower, reminiscent of the MP4-12C but with a more appealing design. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds and stops from 100 km/h in 2.6 seconds, thanks to the fantastic brakes. The 570S excels in cornering and offers exceptional stability. You can feel it urging you to accelerate, especially with the turbo that justifies its price.
Summary
Considering all the details, I would choose the 570S over the 650S. It truly is a daily supercar.
