2018 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Facelift: What to Expect

Introduction
Mercedes-Benz wowed the world with the launch of the brand new S-Class in 2013. This car became the new benchmark of automotive innovation and was an instant success. However, it is now time to look into the future. The German brand is already testing the mid-cycle facelift prototype before the official launch. Rumors suggest that this model will debut next year as the 2018 model, which aligns with the previous launch cycle since the S-Class debuted in 2013 as a 2014 model.

Exterior Changes
Regarding the car itself, the images reveal minimal information. The exterior appears to resemble the current design, with some notable differences:
- Changes in headlights
- Updated exhaust tips
- Modified bumpers
The headlight shape remains the same, but the layout of the LED units has been altered. The next-generation Mercedes Multibeam LED matrix headlight technology is anticipated to debut in the new S-Class. This innovative technology allows drivers to keep the high beams on continuously, while sensors manage the lighting automatically.

Interior Improvements
There are changes in the interior as well, including:
- Bigger dual digital 12.3” screens with a revised user interface
- New multi-functional steering wheel design
- Introduction of possible gesture controls, similar to the BMW 7 Series
- New 9-speed automatic transmission
The updated design of the steering wheel appears to be thicker, providing a more comfortable grip.
