Introduction
During the ongoing Detroit Auto Show, Mercedes unveiled the latest models from its GT family. On the second day of the event, they revealed the refreshed GT and GT S, alongside the all-new AMG GT C coupe and convertible, celebrating the 50th anniversary of AMG and expanding the GT lineup.
Details of the AMG GT C
Starting with the GT C, only 100 units will be produced as a special edition — 50 convertibles and 50 coupes. The vehicle is equipped with the same engine found in the GT C Roadster, unveiled last September, featuring a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that produces 550 horsepower and 680 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds and reaches a top speed of 317 km/h.
Special Edition Features
This special edition stands out with unique exterior touches and a distinctive color, painted in Graphite Mango Grey, complemented by black chrome accents and a rear diffuser with air vents that differentiate it from other models. The car's width has increased by 2.25 inches compared to other variants, featuring the (Edition 50) badge on the rear, headrests, and steering wheel. Inside, you'll notice a black and silver upholstery with matte carbon fiber accents and glossy black details on the center console.
Improvements on Other GT Models
As for the other GT models for 2018, you will notice the newly designed front grille, dubbed Panamericana, which now features 15 slim vertical bars across all GT vehicles. They also showcase a more aggressive front fascia compared to previous models, in addition to new wheel designs and carbon fiber enhancements within the cabin.
GT Engine Specifications
Both the GT and GT S models come with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that generates 469 horsepower and 630 Nm of torque for the GT. The GT S variant produces 515 horsepower and 670 Nm of torque thanks to different tuning settings.
