Details of the Recall
Habtoor Motors, the official distributor of Mitsubishi vehicles in the UAE, has announced a recall of 53,918 Pajero vehicles due to a defect in the airbags. This decision comes after receiving instructions from the Ministry of Economy to recall models V90W/V80W manufactured between January 2013 and December 2017.
Statement from Habtoor Motors
The statement from Habtoor Motors indicated: "We regret to inform you that due to usage conditions and changes in temperature and humidity, a malfunction has occurred in the inflation system composed of ammonium nitrate in the airbag inflator connected to the front passenger seat airbag. This could lead to the rupturing of the inflator body at the moment the airbag deploys. Therefore, the front passenger airbag must be replaced."
