The Nissan Micra is a B-segment offering that has been a part of the Japanese manufacturer’s line-up since 1982. Although it only made its Middle Eastern debut with the fourth-generation model in 2010, the Micra has been unable to gather much traction in the region. However, with the reveal of the all-new model set for the Paris Motor Show in September, that’s destined to change.

The 2017 Nissan Micra is based on the CMF-B small-car platform shared with Renault. A welcome change, keeping in mind that the current model utilizes underpinnings that are over 13 years old. The exterior design bears great resemblance to the Sway concept revealed at last year’s Geneva Motor show and features an aggressive front-end complimented by a rear-end inspired by the Juke.
The word on the ground is that the Nissan Micra 2017 will also be longer and wider than the current model – something that is pretty evident from these camo-laden spy shots. The cabin, too, is expected to benefit from the Sway’s futuristic design doctrine.

While there’s no word on the engine line-up yet, a turbocharged petrol unit with a smaller displacement, isn’t off the cards. Some sources also claim that autonomous braking is to be expected, amongst a plethora of other safety features. Stay tuned for more!
