Sharjah Police Launches Rafid Service for Reporting Traffic Accidents
Introduction
In a move to replace the existing Saed service related to traffic accidents in the Emirate of Sharjah, the police have launched a new service called "Rafid". This service will become operational on May 14, 2018, with further details about response times and incident attendance fees to be announced by the Sharjah government shortly.
Benefits of the New Service
According to Major General Al Shamsi, the Chief of Sharjah Police: "This will provide a simple and easy way to report accidents in the emirate, reducing processing time as drivers will receive the police report via email and can submit it directly to their insurance company."
Application Details
One of the main advantages of this application is that drivers will no longer need to wait for police patrols to report minor traffic accidents. By sending a photo of the accident through the app, traffic experts will assess the incident and issue a report accordingly.
Information Available Through the App
The application will provide step-by-step information in both Arabic and English, along with details such as the exact location of the accident and the nearest police station that will issue the report, in addition to:
- License plate and registration numbers.
- Images of the accident.
- Email addresses of both parties involved.
Coverage of the Application
Upon its launch this month, the application will cover all areas of Sharjah, including City Center, as well as the central and eastern regions.
