In the UAE, the Nissan Patrol 2024 is priced between AED 210,000 and AED 398,500. Competing against SUVs like the Toyota Land Cruiser, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Lexus LX and Dodge Durango, the Nissan Patrol is in a league of its own. Today we will check out some features that Nissan offers with the Patrol 2024.
22-inch wheels
The Nissan Patrol Nismo gets massive 22-inch machine-cut alloy wheels unique to the Nismo variant. These two-tone aluminum wheels add to the sporty appeal of the Patrol Nismo and help it stand out more effortlessly. Meanwhile, the Nissan Patrol SE Platinum City and Nissan Patrol LE Titanium variants and above get 20-inch rims.
Apart from looking cool, these larger wheels improve the Patrol’s cornering ability due to their wider tires featuring shorter sidewalls. With an increase in the contact patch, there is also more traction available across a variety of surfaces.
Hydraulic Body Motion Control (HBMC)
Certain variants of the Nissan Patrol 2024 are equipped with Hydraulic Body Motion Control. The HBMC system consists of two accumulators (one on each side of the car), two hydraulic cylinders, and cross-link hydraulic pipes connecting the whole system. HBMC is closely tied to the four-wheel independent suspension of the Nissan Patrol.
The system is fully independent and doesn’t rely on any dedicated power source to work. Instead, the hydraulic fluid moves between the accumulators based on the side-to-side motion of the vehicle. As the Patrol enters a corner, centrifugal force causes hydraulic fluid to move into the accumulator, stiffening the suspension and preventing further lean.
Nissan’s Hydraulic Body Motion Control technology not only reduces excessive roll, it also makes for a more pliant ride. Another benefit of the system is maintaining sufficient tire contact with the terrain when off-roading while keeping the ride fairly relaxed.
V8 engine
The Nissan Patrol is offered with a 5.6-liter V8 petrol engine, which benefits from direct injection and variable valve timing. The naturally-aspirated motor develops 400 hp and 560 Nm of torque and is paired to a 7-speed automatic transmission. There is a drive and terrain mode selector, useful for a variety of surfaces.
The Patrol comes standard with a permanent four-wheel drive system, a rear diff lock, and a limited-slip differential. The refined eight-cylinder powertrain is powerful yet smooth, makes good noise, and is also plenty reliable. Meanwhile, the Patrol Nismo’s V8 makes 428 horsepower and can propel the 2.8-ton SUV from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.5 seconds.
Quilted leather seats
The premium burgundy interior of the Nissan Patrol not only looks upscale and luxurious, it is also a comfortable place to be in. The diamond-stitch quilted leather upholstery and wood veneer are stylish and high-quality, while the seats offer loads of room and comfort.
The center armrest, located between the front seats, has a double-hinged design and houses a built-in cooler box. The front seats themselves are really comfortable and perfect for long journeys. They are also powered, climate-controlled, and boast a memory function. The quality of the leather and their detailing are top-notch, with durability not being a concern either.
Bose audio system
The 13-speaker Bose premium audio system available with the Nissan Patrol boasts excellent sound quality. It gets plenty loud, boasts rich bass, and there is little to no distortion even at higher volumes. The arrangement of the speakers in the cabin allows for a decent surround-sound effect – even the third-row occupants aren’t denied some aural satisfaction.
Rear entertainment screens
Those seated in the middle row of the Nissan Patrol 2024 won’t be easily bored. This is because there is a rear-seat entertainment system with two screens and two headphones on offer. The 10.1-inch displays are of good quality and allow for single or dual screen mirroring from a smartphone.
NissanConnect Services app
One of the other modern features available to a Nissan Patrol owner is the NissanConnect Services app. The app allows owners to monitor their car’s vital functions like engine condition, oil pressure, and tire pressure (among others). The app offers the ability to set up curfew, geofencing and speed alerts.
The NissanConnect Services app can also be used for some remote functionalities. These include remotely sounding the horn, turning the headlights on/off, starting the engine, and locking/unlocking the doors. The app can even be used to remind the owner about any upcoming maintenance appointments.
