The Audi Q7 has been in existence since 2005, and was the German automaker’s flagship SUV until the arrival of the new Q8. The first-generation Q7 was built on Volkswagen’s E Platform, something it shared with the VW Touareg and Porsche’s Cayenne.
Essentially, the Audi Q7 is a luxury crossover SUV and traces its underpinnings to the VW Touareg. And up until recently, it was also the flagship model for Audi – a position which is now occupied by the Q8.
