2013 Chevrolet Cruze Hatchback Review
We had the opportunity to drive the 2013 Chevrolet Cruze hatchback, testing the 1.8-liter automatic model equipped with a 6-speed transmission. We took a tour through the streets of Dubai to share our insights.
Performance
The driving experience was sporty and smooth, with effortless shifting between the six gears. For those unfamiliar with this vehicle, it is a sturdy hatchback. The speed is not particularly high, so on the highway, you may find yourself primarily in the right lane. This car is designed for urban driving, providing a comfortable and smooth ride within the city. However, regarding fuel efficiency, it’s not the best in its class. In some of our previous tests, we recorded 9 liters/100 km, a figure you would typically expect from a sedan rather than a hatchback. Nevertheless, you can maintain reasonable fuel consumption if you are mindful of your driving habits. Overall, the driving experience was comfortable and reasonable for its category.
Interior
The interior is equipped with various features, especially in the fully loaded model, which includes a rearview camera, parking assist, and the MyLink entertainment system. This system allows you to connect and manage entertainment options without distracting you from the road, making it a useful and safe addition. The manufacturers refer to it as an infotainment system, as it integrates several features like GPS and satellite radio. All of this makes the package user-friendly and efficient. The Chevrolet Cruze provides comfort and innovative design in its interiors, while the trunk space is reasonable for a hatchback, though not the largest available.
Price
The prices for the Chevrolet Cruze are quite reasonable, with the fully equipped model priced at 73,500 AED. This is a competitive price considering the features offered. There are also cheaper alternatives, such as the Peugeot 208 and the Nissan Micra, both of which are also reliable options. However, if you compare them, you will find that the Chevrolet excels in terms of features and comfort, conveying a sense of high quality. Ultimately, it depends on your priorities; it could be a valuable choice if you are looking for a small, high-quality vehicle.
Conclusion
In summary, we believe this smooth small car is a good option for singles or even small families seeking a practical and technologically advanced vehicle. However, if you are looking for a car for highway driving or high performance, this model may not be the right fit for you.
