Audi Q8 e-tron Makes Its Regional Debut in the Middle East
Audi Middle East has unveiled its latest all-electric SUV, the new Q8 e-tron, for the first time in the region. This flagship SUV introduces a refreshed design and numerous updates, particularly at the front end, setting a new benchmark for luxury electric vehicles.
A New Era of Electric Mobility
Audi, recognized for its iconic four rings, took its first step toward electric mobility in 2018 with the launch of the Audi e-tron, redefining standards in the luxury electric SUV segment. The new Q8 e-tron continues this pioneering legacy, standing out as the best in its class with enhanced driving dynamics, improved aerodynamics, greater battery capacity, faster charging performance, and extended electric range.
Innovative Branding and Design
The Q8 e-tron is the first Audi model to feature the new two-dimensional four rings logo and the Audi name emblazoned on the B-pillar, representing Audi’s latest corporate identity. The redesigned singleframe grille and the air diffuser further highlight the Audi brand and give the Q8 e-tron a distinctive presence.
Audi’s Expanding Electric Lineup
Audi’s electric range currently includes six models, with the Q8 e-tron as a key addition. By 2026, Audi aims to launch more than 20 fully electric models, aligning with the ambitious Vorsprung 2030 strategy to exclusively offer electric vehicles moving forward.
Class-Leading Range for Everyday Use
The new Q8 e-tron leads Audi’s all-electric lineup in terms of daily usability, thanks to improved efficiency and impressive range. The Q8 e-tron delivers up to 582 kilometers of range, while the Q8 Sportback e-tron achieves up to 600 kilometers on a single charge, making them both practical choices for everyday driving.
Executive Statement
Carsten Bender, Managing Director of Audi Middle East, stated: “We are delighted to introduce the most powerful electric SUV in our lineup to customers in the Middle East, in line with our Vorsprung 2030 strategy. The Middle East is among the first regions globally to receive the Q8 e-tron, making this launch a milestone for our brand as we build on the success of the pioneering e-tron with a new name and elevated luxury.”
New Identity: Design, Name, and Corporate Signature
With its name, the Q8 e-tron signals its position as the most advanced model among Audi’s electric SUVs and crossovers. The exterior design of the Q8 e-tron and Q8 Sportback e-tron marks a major evolution in Audi’s electric design language, featuring new elements at the front and rear, a signature singleframe grille, inverted grille design, and a redesigned rear diffuser.
Luxurious Interior Comfort
Inside the Q8 e-tron, occupants enjoy a wealth of comfort features, including four-zone climate control and a range of optional upgrades such as an air purification system, massage function, side bolster seats, and customizable ambient lighting. The optional panoramic glass sunroof further enhances the cabin atmosphere, providing an airy and refreshing environment.
Standard ventilated, perforated leather seats offer three-stage ventilation for added comfort, especially in hot climates. The cabin can also be finished with decorative inlays in open-pore ash or sycamore, aluminum accents, or the newly available light brown walnut wood. Audi also offers sustainable materials, partly made from recycled PET bottles, for select trim elements.
Dual Powertrain Options
Drivers can choose between two advanced electric all-wheel-drive systems:
- Q8 55 e-tron & Q8 Sportback 55 e-tron: Both models feature dual motors delivering 300 kW in boost mode and 664 Nm of torque. They offer an electric range of up to 582 km and 600 km, respectively.
- SQ8 Sportback e-tron: The most powerful variant, equipped with three motors producing a combined 370 kW in boost mode and 973 Nm of torque, offering a range of up to 513 km on a single charge.
Larger Battery and Faster Charging
The Q8 55 e-tron supports fast charging at up to 170 kW, allowing the large battery to charge from 10% to 80% in just 31 minutes and enabling up to 420 km of driving before the next charge. For AC charging at home or public stations, the Q8 e-tron charges at up to 11 kW as standard, with an optional 22 kW AC charger available.
The Q8 e-tron comes equipped with the standard “Plug & Charge” function for seamless charging experiences.
Production and Sustainability
Sustainability is a core pillar for Audi. The company is committed to enhancing sustainability across its value chain, targeting net-zero emissions by 2050 and achieving carbon neutrality in production by 2025. The Q8 e-tron is manufactured at the world’s first large-scale carbon-neutral production facility for luxury vehicles. Under the Vorsprung 2030 strategy, Audi is actively engaging stakeholders to advance electric vehicle charging infrastructure throughout the region.
Availability in the Middle East
The Audi Q8 e-tron will be available through local dealerships in the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Jordan, and Lebanon starting from March 2023, with launches in other markets to follow over the next six months.
