Audi R8 Launch Event in Abu Dhabi
Audi Middle East hosted an exclusive event in Abu Dhabi to unveil the all-new Audi R8 and the R Sport brand for the region. The event was designed to embody the competitive spirit and excitement that Audi vehicles are known for, especially their success at Le Mans and in various racing competitions. To celebrate this proud heritage, the Audi R8 was launched at the Yas Marina Circuit. Their choice of venue was perfect for showcasing their capabilities and offering a glimpse into the future.

Arrival at the Event
Firstly, I must mention that reaching the event was a challenge in itself due to the adverse weather conditions affecting the UAE. Streets were flooded, cars were stalled, and traffic was exceptionally bad. Thankfully, we arrived just in time, although many guests were significantly delayed. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by Janice Henson and her team, followed by a delightful dinner at the St. Regis Abu Dhabi.
The Following Day at Yas Marina Circuit
The next day, we set off early from the hotel to Yas Marina Circuit for a formal presentation of the launch. The event was divided into two parts:
- Introduction of the Audi R Sport.
- Driving the Audi R8 on the track.
Overall, it was a long but enjoyable day filled with information and hands-on driving experience. Each participant received a certificate of completion for the course with the R8. Afterward, we returned to the roads amidst the lingering bad weather, but thankfully the streets were much better, concluding an exhilarating day on a high note.
