Bentley Mulliner Batur: A New Era of Electric Luxury
Introduction to Mulliner
Mulliner is Bentley's coachbuilding division that excels in crafting beautiful, hand-built cars. Remember the stunning Bacalar? Yes, that was a creation of Mulliner. Now, Mulliner is set to unveil its second product - the Batur - which will introduce Bentley's design language for electric vehicles.
Teaser Images and Design Features
Bentley has released several teaser images showcasing the iconic flying B badge above the Batur’s grille. The Batur will feature:
- A chrome grille with a V mesh pattern.
- Design elements inspired by Lake Batur in Bali, Indonesia.
Anticipated Specifications
We expect the Batur to be equipped with an electric powertrain and produced in limited quantities, similar to the Bacalar.
Bentley’s Shift to Electric Vehicles
Discussing Bentley's transition to electric vehicles, the first Bentley EV is expected to debut in 2026. This high-riding saloon will be built on the Volkswagen Group’s SSP Platform, promising:
- More than 300 miles (480 km) of range.
- Potential power output of up to 1,400 horsepower.
- Acceleration from 0-60 mph in as little as 2.7 seconds.
Now THAT will be some performance.
Unveiling of the Batur
Returning to the Batur, Mulliner’s second offering, and potentially its first all-electric vehicle, will be unveiled at the Monterey Car Week on August 20.
