Ford Middle East Event Recap in Jordan
Event Overview
Last week, we were invited by Ford Middle East to spend three days in Jordan. The entire setup of the event was top class, with the hosts doing an outstanding job ensuring that all guests were treated well throughout the trip. The locations – Dead Sea, Aqaba, and Petra – were perfectly suited for test driving the cars.

Test Drive Experience
The event commenced with a drive from the Kempinski Hotel Dead Sea, which is adjacent to the Dead Sea road. We then proceeded to the off-roading area. This extended off-road stretch allowed me to truly connect with the vehicles. After all, there is no point in having off-road vehicles if they aren’t genuinely tested in off-road conditions. The off-road drive was followed by a delicious lunch in a typical Jordanian camp in the desert.
Historical Context
T.E. Lawrence and the Arab army rode through the desert for two months to take Aqaba by surprise; we completed this in just a few thrilling off-roading hours with the full SUV line-up, enhanced by significantly more horsepower and air conditioning. We were, in essence, recreating a story that happened hundreds of years ago. Below, we can see Lawrence of Arabia driving a Ford Model T in the Wadi Rum desert.
Special Thanks
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Jordan Tourism Board for their exceptional support throughout our journey. Their assistance was invaluable, especially as we drove in a convoy with police cars at the front and back, ensuring everything went smoothly.
