Official Debut in Saudi Arabia
Ford Middle East has officially unveiled the all-new Ford Territory for the first time in the region, with the launch taking place in the heart of Saudi Arabia. This compact SUV seamlessly combines striking contemporary design, a spacious cabin, confident driving dynamics, advanced safety technologies, and an exceptional driving experience tailored for young drivers and small families.
Executive Insights on the All-New Ford Territory
Ravi Ravichandran, Managing Director of Ford Middle East, commented, "The design of the all-new Ford Territory appeals to young customers and technology enthusiasts. Its modern styling is complemented by advanced tech features, offering a unique and contemporary experience for our clients."
He added, "We conducted comprehensive assessment tests on the all-new Ford Territory over 18 months prior to its official launch in the region. Our Middle Eastern customers have high expectations and specific preferences regarding product quality and customer service. We are confident the new Territory will exceed those expectations."
Engineered for the Middle East
Before arriving in the Middle East, three different prototype models of the all-new Ford Territory underwent rigorous testing on diverse terrains for a period of 18 months. This included two summer cycles (June to August) to ensure the vehicle could withstand daily extreme temperatures ranging from 43°C to 49°C and prolonged sun exposure.
The primary goal of this evaluation was to ensure the all-new Ford Territory would not face any challenges in hot weather conditions during production, and that its performance, comfort, and design would meet regional requirements. Enhancements include rapid and efficient cabin cooling during the summer, an optimized transmission for sustained high-speed driving, and an infotainment system tailored to local customer needs.
Progressive Energy in Design Philosophy
The Ford Territory is built around Ford's new design philosophy, "Progressive Energy in Strength," which draws from the brand's rich heritage and distinctive styling. This philosophy is defined by three core design principles: a commanding presence, agility, and responsiveness.
Maurizio Tocco, Chief Designer for the Ford Territory, stated, "We focused on these core principles because they matter to our customers—ensuring the vehicle has a strong road presence, a sense of spaciousness inside, and integrates smart technology as an essential part of its design."
Exterior Design Highlights
The Territory’s exterior reflects Ford’s signature design language, visible through the front fascia, integrated grille, and full LED headlights, underscoring the SUV’s robust and dynamic character. The distinctive LED headlights provide a unique day-time running light signature and offer ground-focused illumination to broaden the light coverage, enhancing both looks and safety. The bold grille bar is crafted from high-quality materials, showcasing Ford’s global design identity.
A sweeping upper side line from front to rear accentuates the progressive energy of the new Ford Territory’s modern design. The body and rear elements highlight three-dimensional suspended design cues, representing the SUV’s agility and energetic spirit. Innovative rear lighting technology further reflects contemporary evolution in Ford’s latest models.
Interior Design: Craftsmanship Meets Advanced Technology
Inside, the all-new Ford Territory delivers remarkable spaciousness for a comfortable and advanced experience, catering to a wide range of needs—whether for work, leisure, or family journeys. The horizontal design stretches from end to end, creating a cohesive and open cabin.
The interior boasts bold and harmonious color gradients, with blue accents paired with dark wood, while the mix of white and other colors creates a unique visual contrast. Comfort and functionality are elevated with luxurious leather seats, featuring a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat.
The Titanium trim of the Territory features dual-zone climate control, and all trims sold in the Middle East come standard with a PM2.5 air filtration system for added protection against dust and allergens, ensuring consistently high air quality inside the cabin.
Rear seats in the Titanium edition are cooled and upholstered in premium leather, designed for maximum comfort while maintaining the sophisticated, sporty appeal of the SUV. The nearly flat central floor provides added spaciousness and ease of movement for both front and rear passengers.
Ford prioritized storage capacity in the new Territory, equipping it with over 20 spacious storage areas and a 448-liter rear trunk, allowing passengers to utilize storage flexibly throughout the vehicle.
Performance and Efficiency
Ian Jones, Product Development Director at Ford Global Markets Group, explained, "The all-new Ford Territory is a global model, leveraging our expertise in compact SUVs to deliver advanced technology, supreme comfort, and driving confidence. The Territory is highly competitive and offers exceptional value for money."
Every Ford Territory model is powered by a 1.8-liter EcoBoost engine, delivering up to 320 Nm of torque between 1,500 and 3,500 rpm using regular fuel, and generating an impressive 190 horsepower. The vehicle also features an advanced dual-clutch unit and a 7-speed automatic transmission developed by Magna, Ford’s strategic partner in Germany, ensuring smooth, rapid shifting and exceptional fuel efficiency compared to other SUVs in its segment. Low rolling resistance tires further enhance fuel economy.
The Territory is reinforced with ultra-high strength boron steel, which can be molded thinner than conventional steel for reduced weight while maintaining strength and rigidity—helping protect occupants and improve efficiency. The 190 mm ground clearance provides drivers with confidence to handle challenging road conditions.
All trims available in the Middle East are equipped with four driving modes: Eco, Normal, Sport, and Mountain, enabling drivers to adapt their driving experience to various scenarios, from city traffic to long highway journeys.
Advanced Technology Prioritizing Safety and Comfort
The all-new Ford Territory is equipped with a suite of driver-assist technologies to maximize safety and driving enjoyment. Middle Eastern customers can easily control these advanced features via an Arabic language interface. The Ford Co-Pilot system offers a comprehensive range of safety features, including:
- Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert: Enhanced blind spot monitoring acts as an extra set of eyes when changing lanes or merging onto highways. If a fast-moving vehicle enters the Territory’s blind spot, the system alerts the driver with an indicator light on the side mirror.
- Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go: Available on the Titanium trim, this system lets drivers set their speed and maintain a safe distance from the car ahead, even bringing the Territory to a complete stop if needed.
- Collision Avoidance and Automatic Emergency Braking: Utilizing wide-angle cameras and radar mounted near the front bumper, the system scans the road ahead to detect potential collisions with vehicles, pedestrians, or cyclists. It issues audible and visual warnings, and if the driver does not react, automatic emergency braking is activated.
Additionally, the new Ford Territory includes safety features such as lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, tire pressure monitoring system, proactive anti-theft system, and comprehensive occupant protection.
For added convenience, the Territory features a streamlined center console with a large 12-inch touchscreen, complemented by either a 7-inch (Ambient and Trend trims) or 12-inch (Titanium trim) digital instrument cluster, making it easy for the driver to control all functions while staying focused on the road.
The minimal button layout on the central control unit is highly appreciated by drivers for its practicality, while the new electronic rotary gear selector adds a modern touch and appeals to customer tastes.
The Ford Territory also boasts an array of premium features to enhance every journey, including wireless charging, USB Type-C and Type-A ports, wireless smartphone connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a high-quality audio system with six speakers (Ambient and Trend trims) or eight speakers (Titanium trim), steering wheel audio controls, smart keyless entry with Power Push Start, and a hands-free power liftgate.
Enriching the Customer Experience
Ford Middle East offers the all-new Territory in several trims: Ambient, Trend, and Titanium, each featuring a variety of options to help customers enjoy life to the fullest.
The new Territory is available in seven exterior colors: Black, Metallic Blue, Metallic White, Ruby Red Metallic, Metallic Brown, Metallic Silver, and Crystal Pearl White. The interior features dark tones for Ambient and Trend, light grey for Trend and Titanium, and an exclusive Peacock Blue for Titanium. Ambient and Trend trims come with vinyl seats, while Titanium boasts leather upholstery.
Ravichandran concluded, "Our refreshed lineup, which began with the all-new Taurus, Bronco Raptor, Expedition, and Ranger Raptor, will continue expanding with more models in the coming months. The all-new Ford Territory rounds out this lineup, serving as the entry ticket to the Ford SUV world. Its launch also aligns with the 'Ford+' plan for growth and delivering top value and competitiveness."
The development of the Ford Territory was a collaborative project with Jiangling Motors. The SUV stands out for its strong presence, exceptional craftsmanship, flexible and spacious interior, and the latest technologies eagerly anticipated by customers.
The Territory was designed by the Ford Design Studio in Melbourne, Australia, and was tested and developed across multiple global markets. The all-new Ford Territory is now available at most Ford showrooms throughout the Middle East.
