Great Wall Motors set the Shanghai Motor Show alight with its full range of electric vehicles. As part of its events planned, it invited more than 300 journalists of media and distributor representatives from over 60 countries and regions to its R&D Center in Baoding, China.
The R&D Center is 250,000 m2 in size and has a total investment of CNY 5 billion. It has a full R&D system and product development process, as well as facilities for product R&D, styling, engineering design, product trial production and testing, and other engineering areas, which strongly supports product verification and technology R&D. GWM gave the journalists a tour of its hydrogen energy R&D center, wind tunnel laboratory and NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness) laboratory.
GWM has been striving to innovate as much as it can in its center with R&D investment increased to CNY12.181 billion last year. A whopping 1,966 patent disclosures and 1,650 patent authorizations are possessed by the Chinese brand.
GWM has built a full-value chain structure of "solar energy-battery-hydrogen energy-vehicle power" in NEVs at the moment. The firm says that it will continue to make forays in implementing its hybrid, pure electric, and hydrogen power technology development plans.
