This groundbreaking feature is delivered through the SOTA (Software-Over-The-Air) program, enabling continuous remote updates for a seamless driving experience.

How What3words Technology Works

What3words divides the globe into a grid of 3m x 3m squares, assigning each square a unique three-word address. Thanks to the always-on functionality—operating independently of mobile connectivity—both current and new Jaguar and Land Rover customers can navigate to any specific location worldwide using just three words. This offers unmatched convenience and reliability, even when traditional navigation fails.

SOTA: Enhancing Modern Luxury Through Continuous Updates

This integration is part of the latest SOTA upgrade offered to customers this year. To date, Jaguar Land Rover has completed over 1.3 million vehicle-level updates and more than three million engine control unit updates, reinforcing its commitment to modern, always-connected luxury for its clientele.

Seamless Integration with Pivi Pro Infotainment

Once updated, the system allows users to input three-word addresses directly into the navigation bar of the Pivi Pro Infotainment system. The integration, delivered by HERE Technologies—Jaguar Land Rover’s navigation partner for over 25 years—brings advanced connected driving services. These services include step-by-step guidance, real-time traffic, and both on-street and off-street parking information, all designed to create a personalized and intuitive driving experience.

Available Across All New and Current Vehicles with Pivi Pro

The integrated What3words functionality is available in all new and existing Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles equipped with the advanced Pivi Pro infotainment system, ensuring widespread access to this innovative navigation solution.
