New Parking Permits for People with Disabilities in Dubai

Introduction

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has issued new parking permits that allow individuals with disabilities to park for free in any location across the city.

New Parking Permits

Sultan Al Marzouqi, the Director of Licensing at the RTA, stated that individuals with disabilities can now use these permits with any vehicle. All they need to do is display the permit on the dashboard of the vehicle being used.

Senior Citizens

Senior citizens are also allowed to park for free in any location in Dubai, except in spaces designated for individuals with disabilities.

Categories of Permits

There are seven categories of permits available, which include:

• Individuals with permanent disabilities
• Temporary injuries
• People suffering from certain medical conditions
• Senior citizens
• Centers for individuals with disabilities
• Organizations
• Tourist buses

Tourist Permits

Al Marzouqi added that any tourist who has a disability and is capable of driving is also eligible to obtain a permit.
