Tesla, the world’s leading electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, is officially launching in Saudi Arabia with a grand event scheduled for April 10 in Riyadh. This marks a major milestone in the company’s expansion into the Middle East, reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s growing commitment to EV adoption and sustainable transportation.

As part of its ongoing efforts to promote sustainable mobility, the UAE has announced updated charging fees for electric vehicles (EVs), effective from January 1, 2025. The move aims to strike a balance between encouraging EV adoption and ensuring the financial sustainability of charging infrastructure.

Dubai continues to lead the way in sustainable transportation as the city announces the setup of over 740 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. With 35,000 EVs already on its roads, the UAE's iconic city is showcasing its commitment to a greener, more sustainable future. In a survey conducted by Morning Consult, commissioned by General Motors Africa & Middle East, it was revealed that two thirds of vehicle owners in the UAE and Saudi Arabia are eager to explore the benefits of EV adoption.
The 2020 edition will see Generation.e, the entity supporting the acceleration of electric vehicle adoption across the world, and YallaMotor, the region’s top automotive portal, join forces to encourage the transition to smarter mobility within the region. For Q1, the two firms will be investing $300,000 in their marketing campaign towards the EV adoption in the Middle East and will launch day one of EVRT Dubai 2020 edition on 25th March, 2020.
With the objective of accelerating the rate of EV adoption in the region and following a successful event last year, Global EVRT is set to return to the Middle East in January 2019.
