2019 Nissan X Trail Review
Nissan first introduced the X Trail into the highly competitive crossover segment nearly two decades ago. Today, the X Trail stands as one of the most popular vehicles in its category and is also the Japanese brand’s best-selling car worldwide. Currently in its third generation, the 2019 X Trail remains a top choice in its segment.
Over the years, Nissan has made numerous enhancements to keep the X Trail relevant in an increasingly competitive environment. However, the new X Trail faces formidable competitors, including the Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, and Kia Sportage.
Exterior
Unlike its boxier predecessors, the new 2019 Nissan X Trail showcases a stylish and sophisticated design. The squared-off edges have been replaced with curvier shapes and sleek contours. The front fascia features Nissan’s signature chrome-laden V-Motion grille, flanked by new headlamps equipped with eye-catching arrow-shaped LED daytime running lights.
The side profile of the new X Trail is characterized by pronounced front fenders, and combined with the large alloy wheels, it presents a muscular demeanor for this family-friendly crossover. As is common with contemporary crossovers, there’s extensive use of black body cladding on the X Trail to enhance its ruggedness. At the rear, the taillamps feature a stylish wrap-around design and incorporate LED elements. Two chrome strips are present: one above the plate holder on the tailgate and another integrated into the rear diffuser.
The new X Trail is larger than previous models, accommodating up to seven passengers. Its dimensions include a length of 4.690 meters, a width of 1.830 meters, a height of 1.740 meters, and a wheelbase of 2.705 meters. With all three rows in use, the boot capacity measures 135 liters.

Similar to its younger sibling, the Kicks, the interior of the new X Trail is an inviting space. From its overall design theme to the quality of materials used, Nissan has ensured that one of its most popular cars continues to evolve.
