Introduction to the Hyundai Elantra N
Hyundai Motor has unveiled its new high-performance model, the Elantra N (known as Avante N in Korea), during a global digital presentation. This remarkable sedan is the latest addition to Hyundai's "N" lineup of sporty vehicles designed for everyday use.
Specifications of the Elantra N
The Elantra N is the high-performance variant of the all-new Elantra, which was launched in April 2020. It offers enhanced driving dynamics, distinctive touches, and a sporty standard design.
Unique Features
During the digital launch, the Korean company highlighted over 40 unique enhancements for the Elantra N through a story about a child who fell in love with cars, visually showcasing the attributes of this daily sports vehicle, meticulously engineered to elevate driving performance.

On this occasion, Thomas Schemera, Executive Vice President and Head of Customer Experience at Hyundai Motor, stated: "The combination of hydrogen and battery power could unlock future possibilities for Hyundai in the automotive world. Hydrogen can be used to extend range and enhance power. We have the necessary technology to achieve this, and I am fully confident that we will succeed."
Engine Performance
The Elantra N features a turbocharged 2.0-liter flat engine with a 52 mm turbo wheel (5 mm larger than the previous model) and a 12.5 mm² turbo passage (2.5 mm² larger).
- Additional improvements include the development of the cylinder lock shape and material, enhancing engine performance and durability.
- The technology maintains peak power output at around 5500 RPM for optimal acceleration.
Transmission and Performance System
This engine is paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), generating a power output of 280 horsepower and a maximum torque of 40 kg·m.
Thanks to the N Grin Shift system, the generated power is boosted to 290 horsepower.
The Elantra N can achieve a top speed of 250 kilometers per hour and accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 5.3 seconds.
