With the ongoing fog enveloping the country, Abu Dhabi Police are urging motorists in the emirate to drive with caution as visibility reduces. Ensuring the safety of all road users, Abu Dhabi Police has reduced the speed limit to 80km/h on the following roads: Abu Dhabi to Al Ain, Abu Dhabi to Sweihan, Mohammed Bin Rashid and Maktoum bin Rashid between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and Al Ain to Dubai.

In a bid to improve the safety of motorists and road users in the emirate, Abu Dhabi Police have rolled out a number of new radars that will be functional from 1st January 2021 and automatically fine motorists who are not wearing seatbelts or using their mobile phone while driving.

Residents in Abu Dhabi can now pay fines in installments without any interest for an entire year while holding accounts with five popular banks. Abu Dhabi Police has introduced the scheme by partnering with five banks in the UAE to allow drivers to pay traffic fines in parts as per their affordability.

Abu Dhabi Police have urged motorists to settle payments of their traffic fines by offering three types of discounts that can be availed through the Abu Dhabi Police website or their smartphone app. The discounts include a 50% discount on fines incurred before 22nd December 2019 with the offer valid until June 22, 2020.
