Volkswagen Extends New Car Warranty
Details of the Warranty Extension
Volkswagen Middle East has announced a three-month extension on the warranty for new cars, aligning with the global warranty extension issued by the Volkswagen brand for passenger vehicles. This extension applies to all vehicles with a three-year warranty set to expire between March 1, 2020, and May 31, 2020. The extension is valid for three months following the expiration of the original warranty on the new vehicle.
Statement from Volkswagen Management
Mr. Jürgen Stackmann, a member of the Volkswagen brand board responsible for sales, marketing, and after-sales for passenger cars, commented on the global warranty extension:
"Due to the coronavirus pandemic, many of our authorized workshops around the world remain closed. For many of our customers, it has not been possible to submit warranty claims in a timely manner."
New Procedure
This initiative represents a one-time voluntary concession to assist customers during the exceptional circumstances caused by the spread of COVID-19. Additionally, warranties provided through external partners will not be extended.
